USTP Oroquieta’s Wellness Week: A Healthier and Happier USTP

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) successfully observed Wellness Week from April 15 to 19, 2024, through the initiative of Mr. Bernardo Crisologo, Arts and Culture Coordinator, and with the facilitation of campus department heads and student leaders. The long-week event recognized the importance of the well-being of the USTP community which includes students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff. 

The activity started with a welcome message from Dr. Glorimer L. Clarin, USTP Oroquieta’s Acting Campus Director, who encouraged everyone to enjoy the activities prepared for them. A Zumba session then followed. 

The Wellness Week was a vibrant showcase of the diverse talents and skills of the Trailblazers. Students were given the platform to express themselves through a variety of activities, ranging from traditional games like Patintero, Sack Races, and Pokpok Palayok, to e-game tournaments. The week was a true celebration of students’ interests. Faculty members and non-teaching staff also had their share of fun with team sports. Additionally, various activities such as a Drug Symposium, Leadership Training, and Labor Education were conducted, fostering a dynamic environment of camaraderie. 

USTP Oroquieta’s Wellness Week is a testament to the University’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of its community. By offering relaxation, connection, and leadership development opportunities, the event underscored the University’s dedication to fostering holistic wellness in USTP’s academic environment.
