VISION

The USTP Career Center and Industry Relations Office develops and guides the students and alumni trailblazers in identifying career opportunities that matches their skills, interest, personality, and values leading to meaningful and purposeful contributions to the ever dynamic global industry.

MISSION

The Career develops programs and services to support the University instruction, research, and service mission through:

  • Providing a centralized, integrated career development and placement program for students;
  • Increasing student awareness of the involvement in career development and placement programs;
  • Educating the university community regarding awareness of career development as a concept linking education and work.
  • Increasing student appreciation of their integral involvement in personal career decision-making, planning, and readiness;
  • Establishing an organizational structure, physical setting, and the resources necessary to manage effective career development programs placement services, and evaluation systems;
  • Developing career instructional materials necessary to prepare graduates to become competent in the world of work;
  • Conducting researches related to career for the improvement of the delivery of the course, programs, and service offerings aligned towards the Institutional Graduate Attributes and 21st century skills competencies expected of the graduates by the various industry demands, career center program and tracer studies.
STRATEGIC GOALS AND OBJECTIVES​
  • To facilitate accreditation of student organizations, maintain a list of accredited organization and conduct regular meeting with the moderators and officers of these organization to monitor activities and implement new ones.
  • To assist the students and student organization in the implementation of their approved co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • To coordinate with the Prefect of Discipline and Guidance Counselors on the supervision of student’s  behaviour and discipline and in the dissemination of the provisions of the student handbook.
  • To initiate activities that will develop the student’s leadership skills, personality development, and communicative competence in English.
  • To promote multicultural sensitivity by training students and student leaders to free them from the limitations of prejudice and intolerance.
  • To promote opportunities to students for community service activities and increase their awareness of social and citizenship responsibility.
  • To develop and monitor systems for addressing grievances and disputes by creating a grievance committee to assert the dignity of each individual.
  • To establish and maintain channels of communication which would inform the whole studentry of campus resources, programs of activities and university-wide celebrations.
  • To conduct and utilize research outputs to determine and assess the effectiveness of student services.
