The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) acts as the service College providing Outcomes-Based Quality Education for general education instruction to students of the ten (10) mandated courses of USTP Claveria Campus namely: Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Technology in Horticulture Management, Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT), Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering (BSEnE) and Bachelor of Food Processing Technology (BFPT) with the additional four programs offered in SY 2020-2021 namely the re-opened Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) as the maiden program of the College of Arts and Sciences; the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE); Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd)and the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) major in Crop Science and Animal Science.
The College of Arts and Sciences has recently reoffered its Bachelor of Science in Social Work as per BOR Res. 5 2019. Prior to its closure in 2014, it has registered a consistent 100% licensure board exam passing percentage for two consecutive years. Now the College of Arts and Science caters to some 400+ students during its first year of reopening. A number of students are seeking admission at the College through its BSSW Program. Additional programs are hopefully to be reoffered under the College.
Objectives
The College of Arts and Sciences endeavors to:
- Integrate graduate attributes: values , skills and human relations in all curricular programs and general education program of the university;
- Develop strong cooperation and support from faculty members for academic competency and excellence;
- Promote analytical, critical, logical thinking, creativity, and responsibility for a deeper understanding
of the fast changing society;
- Encourage community-based research studies for instructional innovations and promotion of social development;
- Conduct community extension activities to develop potentials, abilities, and resources to promote inclusivity and economic growth.
- Establish close interaction between the College and the industries for research, training, job placements, and other support programs.
